Before our vineyards make grapes, our location makes ideal conditions.
Fertile, temperate, and nourished year-round by the breathtaking Breede River, our vineyards enjoy a special, slightly drier Mediterranean microclimate with the Atlantic Ocean cooling our night-time temperatures. Some refer to it as perfect.

The Cellar
A winery steeped in a century of heritage
Named for the low water bridge our family patriarch Albertus Viljoen van der Merwe commissioned back in 1928, it is here winemaker Alvi van der Merwe crafts his vision for exceptional South African wines.
